The SSTI Grand Convening took place from 29 July to 2 August 2024 in London, UK. The event
brought together the cohort to formulate actionable strategies and plans to ensure women’s
comprehensive participation in discussions, processes, and decisions concerning Afghanistan.
Key objectives included:
1. Developing a detailed implementation plan to secure women’s involvement across socio-
cultural, economic, political, and security sectors.
2. Facilitating strategic relationships with key stakeholders to enable advocacy
opportunities and effective participation in Track I and II processes.
3. Finalizing guiding principles and a code of conduct to support the effective
implementation of strategies promoting women’s inclusion.
4. Conducting interactive sessions, including World Café methodology, strategic mapping,
and peer-learning circles for skill development.

The workshop was conducted primarily in person, with hybrid participation options, including
support for participants joining from Afghanistan.
